I am asking anyone who reads my blog that knows us or doesn't to please pray for the Ely football team and coaches and the families of the girls who were in the accident with them on Friday evening.
We have been getting tons of calls and emails from people reaching out to Kurt and his team. It is truly amazing the amount of support that comes from people in a small town and even total strangers.
Just to update you a little, Kurt and his team are doing fine physically (other than some bruised ribs and soreness) and are beginning to deal with the emotional wounds that come with this. The team is planning on attending the funeral for Emma on Thursday.
I was very impressed with the way our school handled this. Ely school staff are the best. Quick thinking, compassion for those involved and very professional. Thanks EHS staff!!
On a side note I just have to say how extremely proud I am of my husband. I've always known what an amazing person he is, but the way he selflessly helped to save the girls in the car and the time and effort he has taken to help his team through this ordeal truly leaves me speechless. Not everyone has that kind of strength and courage and I am so glad to have him in my life.
Thank you to those of you who have called, emailed, texted or talked with us on the street voicing your concern for Kurt and his team. Keep the prayers coming for the girls recovery and for our boys to have peace of mind.

...you guys are still in our thoughts and prayers - hope things are going well. Having the team go to the funeral is an amazing thing - I am sure all of the guys will learn some life-long lessons from this whole experience - I commend Kurt for all that he as called to do through this whole ordeal.
