The end is near...

I have mixed emotions right now about our hockey season ending... Nick and Eric had their last tournaments of the year last weekend. Ty has his last tournament this weekend. The ice has melted off of the arena, there is no more open hockey and Kurt is actually home at night... And frankly, I think I am going through withdrawls!! This past week I have actually found myself panicking thinking that we needed to be somewhere at night only to look at the calendar and see that it is blank.

I have finally been able to see my husband for more than 15 minutes at a time for the first time since August 15th when football started. I didn't realize how much I missed our silly conversations that were taken away when he started coaching. Don't get me wrong, I love that he coaches, but honestly I think I have been in survival mode all winter and part of the fall just trying to manage schedules, kids and life in general.

We have actually sat down at the table as a full family and had dinner this week!! The last time we did that was probably Christmas dinner.

So even though I hate to see the hockey season end, I am also very grateful for this much needed break and ready to get my family back on track again.

Our boys have already pulled out the rubber boots and the boot driers are going on full speed to try and keep up with the muddy/wet mess that they are bringing in from the quickly melting snow. The washer and dryer are also running constantly and YES, I have made all three of them strip down on the outside porch already because they were so wet and muddy. Spring is in the air and soon there will be bike riding, waterskipping & fort building!!

Check back early next week for final hockey season pictures and a season wrap up.

Oh, and you may have noticed that I haven't been posting the gratitude journal every day like before - yes, I have given up on my new year's resolution already. Or at least I have given up documenting it on paper/blog. Instead, I have come up with an even better gratitude journal. Each night before bed the boys and I sit and talk about our days. We all share one special thing from the day with each other. Kurt thinks it's a waste of time, but I think it's a great way to get the boys to talk so we are sticking with it.

Again, check back next week for pictures... until then hope you are enjoying the warm weather
