Nick*aspiring golden gopher hockey player*
*deep thinker*
*natural born leader*
*wears his emotions on his sleeve*
I got the pleasure of having an entire mom/son weekend with Nick a couple of weekends ago. We went to his hockey Tournament in Greenway Fri-Sun and what an exciting weekend we had including the squirt team's first win.
The big celebration following their first win.
He loves the pool just like his mom. And I loved to smell the chlorine on him!!
Team meeting in the hot tub to discuss game strategy. I look at this picture and can fast forward in my mind to when these boys are 16 and sitting around a hot tub talking hockey and girls.
Nick studying the game. He is always so serious when it comes to his hockey. He studies game tapes, wakes up and picks up his stick to play before eating breakfast and his stick is the last thing he puts down before going to bed at night. As annoying as the continuous hockey antics are - it amazes me how passionate he is for this game. Eats, sleeps and breaths it.
As I was looking at these pictures I felt kind of sad at how grown up he seemed. But, then I remember the daily hugs and kisses he gives me along with the special cuddles and I know that my little boy is still in there somewhere and I still catch a glimpse of him every now and then when he isn't trying to be the tough hockey player.
Love you Nick!!
